New at
T2: Awesome deal on some real protection...Dainese Shield Race back
protectors
Many folks know that I'm constantly lurking around many
different motorcycle Internet forums and mailing lists...ok, sometimes I do
more yapping than lurking, but you get the idea. Anyway, one of the things I
see most is folks asking how they can save money on riding gear. I am
very excited to announce that we've just received a huge shipment of Dainese
Shield Race back protectors, and you will freak when you see the price...and
don't skip ahead and ruin the surprise!
I'm going to give you the 100%
straight scoop here. This is a discontinued model that was the backbone (sorry)
of Dainese's protection line just a couple of years ago. I personally bought
one of this very model 3 seasons ago for $125. Since then, some companies have
come out with some advanced technology protectors that likely outperform this
model, and that represent the very finest in back protection money can
buy.
I'm talking here about the most recent Knox protectors, the T-Pro
Forcefield, and a couple of others. These are the very best protection you can
buy, and I urge you to research them, and if they are within your budget, buy
one. Really. If you need help finding somewhere to buy one of these high-end
pieces of kit, let me know and I'll hook you up with a quality
vendor.
Why am I telling you this? It's because I want you to be as safe
as you can possibly be, end of story. Now, I know as well as you do that not
everybody is going to spend $150 or so on a back protector. There is a wide
variety of no-name armor out there of unknown origin that you can buy for under
$100, pass tech, and get out on the track. I wouldn't wear it, and I don't want
you to wear it.
Here is an opportunity for folks who might be tight in
the budget to still buy some quality, name brand kit that I would wear
myself...heck, I own one of these, like I said. These are Dainese Shield Race
back protectors, in white. I have them in three different sizes to fit just
about everybody. Please see below for sizing and pricing.
Dainese Shield Race back protectors:
$58 Sizing:
This protector has 8 plates, and we've got size M and L. This size refers only
to the belt, and has nothing to do with the protector itself.
If you're
under 210, I'd go with the M. Over 210, go for the L. I had previously posted
that I had to have my old size L extended to fit me (I'm 280) but these are a
bit stretchier...I've worn the L the last two race weekends no
problem.
Street riders: if you think you might be wearing this protector
over bulky clothes (sweatshirts, etc.) I'd go with the L size. In any case, the
belts are very elastic, and fit a very wide variety of folks. Plus, if you get
one, and it turns out you really needed a different size, I'll swap it for you
as long as you don't use it first. Cool?
NOTE: We are willing to ship to
Canada, but additional postage will apply. Contact me via the 'contact' page
before ordering. Thanks!
These protectors are out of stock...stay tuned for an even
BETTER deal on armor!
